Gibson has great length, but his frame looks awfully
skinny. Listed at 230, and that might be a reach, Gibson
has been able to handle his own in the post. So far in
2007-08 campaign he is averaging close to a double-double
every game. But at age 22, he is body going to be able to
add more 15 more pounds and still have the explosiveness
needed to compete near the basket?
Gibson gave his stock a tremendous lift with his strong
performance against the Tar Heels in last season NCAA
tournament. He was spectacular at times defensively and
had the Trojans on the way to victory before getting into
foul trouble. He needs to stay on his feet and not be overly
aggressive on defense.
Needs work at foul line where his average is hovering close
to 60% for his career. This is strange because he can hit a
15 foot jumper with little problem. We believe his poor
foul shooting is more mental than mechanical, but again at
age 22 is that going to change?
His huge wingspan allow for him to play off opponents at
times and till be able to block shots. He is at nearly 2
blocks a game and altars close to 4.
